Kimberly McCullough

In a recent blog post on her website recapping 2015 as she personally experienced it, “’s” (Robin Scorpio) revealed that after learning she would become a first time mother to a baby girl the unthinkable happened: she suffered a miscarriage.

“My heart was so full and then it broke. I had lost my baby girl. It was too much. I didn’t need to learn this lesson. I wasn’t interested. But I wasn’t in control. These things happen and no, I don’t believe they happen ‘for a reason,'” wrote McCullough. “I’m still processing, still healing, but anyone who has gone through it knows, losing a baby at 22 weeks is tragic. One thing I am proud of however was that I allowed myself to be happy and to relish the moment. I sat in all that goodness and I can recall those feelings (when I’m having different ones) and hope that it can be like that again.”

McCullough departs “GH” this week when the newly remarried Robin and Patrick Drake () depart Port Charles.

THIS WEEK: Billy’s Life Hangs in the Balance on ‘Y&R’

When  takes over the role of Billy Abbott beginning Wednesday, January 13 on CBS’ “,” it’ll be during an emotional time for the character as his doctors conclude he has a slim chance of survival shortly after not just one, but two misadventures that have left him in a coma and possibly paralyzed.

First Billy (currently portrayed by Burgess Jenkinson) was beat up in the Newman parking garage after failing to pay his bookie the money he owed just as the clock struck midnight in Genoa City, and then Noah Newman () ran over Billy after placing his car in reverse soon after Sharon () and Nicholas’ () son had another disagreement with Marissa (), who found Billy lying unconscious after Noah drove off in his car.

While any logical driver would likely check on their car after realizing that they may have hit something (besides the wall) when backing up in order to avoid another vehicle parked in front of them, Noah’s decision to push forward will definitely put not just a damper on his relationship with Marissa, who is called into the precinct to give a statement to Paul Williams (), but more severely his freedom as well.

With machines the only thing keeping him alive at the moment, Billy’s family and friends hope their love, support and prayers can bring him back to them. But which Billy will be greeting them when he wakes up? You’ll just have to tune in to find out!

‘General Hospital’s’ Patrick and Robin Wed in Storybook Ending

Jason Thompson, Brooklyn Rae Silzer, Kimberly McCullough

It’s taken years, but Scrubs fans are finally getting their wish, this week on “.” Newly reunited Patrick () and Robin () are getting remarried, and this time they’re going to live happily ever after; albeit off camera.

The duo’s second wedding is an impromptu affair, inspired by a talk with their daughter, Emma (). Afterwards, Patrick and Robin decide to invite family and friends over to their house for a party. Once they arrive, the couple surprises them with the happy news that they’re about to exchange “I Do’s.”

Anna (), Felicia (), Maxie (), Carly (), Sonny () and Elizabeth () are among those on hand to witness the nuptials, with Robin’s Uncle Mac () officiating over the ceremony.

The couple’s daughter, Emma, is thrilled to see her parents back together as husband and wife.  “This time, it’s forever,” she announces excitedly.

The happy ending, of course, has one major drawback. The newlyweds and their daughter will immediately head off the story canvas, as Thompson reports to “” to assume the role of Billy Abbott and McCullough returns to her directing work.

But it will be a beautiful sendoff, as Patrick, Emma and Robin leave together — arm in arm and all smiles. Young Emma is even carrying her mother’s bridal bouquet.

McCullough, for one, promises it will a storybook ending. “Don’t forget to watch this week! [Lots] of good stuff #gh #psychofan,” she tweeted.

You can watch a preview of Robin and Patrick’s wedding below:

A wedding is coming your way this week on #GH!

Brooklyn Rae Silzer “Very Sad” to Leave ‘General Hospital’ and Role as Emma

, who plays Emma Drake on “,” exits the soap, today, and admits she’s “very sad” to be leaving. Unfortunately, the child star became a casualty, when her TV dad  (Patrick Drake) opted to leave the soap and head over to “” to take over the role of Billy Abbott.

The GH writers had no choice but to send the newly reunited Patrick and Robin () and their daughter Emma off to live happily ever after together. However, it ended up being all the way to California — some 3000 miles away from Port Charles, NY.
Silzer expressed her disappointment about Emma moving away to Soap Opera Digest, albeit noting that she understood “this was the best way to write our story since Jason was leaving. Usually, you don’t get to be with the same people for so long on a show and I am so grateful for the most amazing four-and-a-half years of my life that I will cherish forever.”
The young actress, however, is hoping for a return to Port Charles at some point and even suggested an idea that could work: an occasional visit to her grandmother Anna (), who’s now living alone in the Drake home.
“She might be lonely and need to see Emma! We could have super-long sleepovers!” said Silzer.
Word is the GH writers are hoping to bring Silzer back from time to time. After all, young Emma does have two suitors waiting for her back in Port Charles: Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas J. Bechtel) and Cameron Spencer (Michael Leone).

In the interim, Silzer already has a new project. She’s been cast as Megan Wolf in the pilot, “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.” The series, which stars Alana de la GarzaGary Sinise, Daniel Henney, Tyler James Williams and Annie Funke (Mae), debuts March 2 at 10p on CBS.

4 Things That Need to Happen for Jason Thompson’s Billy to be a Success on ‘Y&R’

Jason Thompson

 OBSERVATIONS

It’s out with the old and in with the new on January 13, when debuts as Billy Abbott on “.” Thompson replaces , who joined the soap in June 2014 replacing . But let’s face it, he’ll be judged by whether or not he measures up to ‘s portrayal of the popular character.

In order the Thompson’s version of Billy to be a success and “Y&R” fans to accept him, 4 things need to happen.

Forever “Villy”
The chemistry between (Victoria) and Billy Miller was off the charts and reproducing it is nearly impossible. Despite their best efforts, Tom and Jenkins never came close. Thompson, however, has a major edge. He’s already been part of a daytime supercouple with (ex-Robin) on “GH.” He knows the drill and the intricacies that go into creating one. Of course, he’ll also have to connect strongly with Heinle and that remains the intangible, if their Victoria and Billy is going to work.

Family Ties
As one of Genoa City’s core families, the Abbotts are a mix of high profile characters with intricate relationships. First and foremost, Thompson’s Billy will have to connect with ‘s Jack, the big brother he’s always looking up to and whose approval is paramount to him. He’ll also have to tap into Billy’s vulnerable side with ‘s Ashley, the one sibling who’s always been able to reach him, even in his darkest hours. Lastly, there’s that all important bond he’ll need to master with ‘s Jill as he navigates their push-pull dynamic. Their unconventional mother/son attachment is one of daytime’s most unique and intriguing.

Shaking Dr. Drake
A big part of Thompson’s success will be depend on whether or not daytime fans can accept him as someone other than GH neurosurgeon Patrick Drake. He played the part for a decade and, in many ways, became synonymous with him. Heck, just seeing Thompson out of a lab coat and into a suit on a daily basis is going to be odd. Fortunately, Thompson is a consummate actor. He earned five daytime Emmy nominations during his tenure in Port Charles — three as Outstanding Lead Actor and two as Outstanding Supporting Actor. So if anyone can master the switch – even one as radical as transforming from a serious super doc to a lovable screwup – it’s Thompson.

Vitriol and Victor
The only thing as important as the rapport Billy shares with the people who know and love him in Genoa City, is the animosity between him and ‘s Victor. Their vitriolic relationship is like none other in soaps. There’s an undercurrent in every scene between them – Victor forever hating Billy for the love spell he’s cast upon his daughter Victoria, and Billy forever loathing Victor for his condescending arrogance. It will be crucial that Thompson keep that undercurrent alive any time the two characters cross paths, because it is a pivotal part of who Billy is.

There’s a new doctor scrubbing in at “.” Matt Cohen has landed the role of Dr. Griffin Munro. The character makes his Port Charles debut the first week of February.

Last week on CBS’ “,” actor (ex-Patrick Drake, “”) made his debut as Billy Abbott. Are you watching?

After his brother, Jack (), made the decision to pull the plug after it was learned that there was no brain functionality, friends and family gathered together to say their goodbyes to Billy. All throughout the Wednesday, January 13 episode, characters entered Billy’s hospital room to share their fondest memories and the dearest sentiments for their loved one. Despite their kind words, viewers hadn’t seen Billy’s face since his previous portrayer, , left the screen on Tuesday, January 5. That changed with the words, “The role of Billy Abbott is now being played by Jason Thompson.”

Since then, the family officially pulled the plug and Billy was to die a peaceful death. Thankfully, however, Billy showed some signs of life and briefly woke up — Paul Williams () even attempted to get Billy to see if he remembered anything about the accident that put him in the hospital.

8 Surprises About the 2016 Daytime Emmy Awards Pre-Nominations

Billy Miller Jason Thompson

The 2016 pre-nominations have been announced. As always, there were a few conspicuously missing performers and some interesting category choices. Here are 8 surprises about this year’s contenders.

1) Paging
After 5 nominations in the last 6 years and 3 victories (Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2010 and 2013 and Outstanding Lead Actor in 2015) — all for his work as Billy Abbott on “,” Billy Miller (Jason Morgan, “”) is absent from the list. What gives?

2) Young & Hungry
“Days of our Lives” supercouple  (Chad DiMera), 30, and Kate Mansi (Abigail Deveraux), 29, are going for the gold in a big, bold way. The duo are the youngest performers to submit themselves in the Outstanding Lead Actor and Outstanding Lead Actress category, respectively.

3) Missing Mosley
The most stunning omission, hands down, has to be “The Bold and the Beautiful’s” (Maya Avant Forrester). After driving a powerful and topical transgender storyline, she seemed a strong shoe-in to contend for an award. Sadly, she won’t get the chance.

4) Paging
During his 10 year tenure as “GH’s” Patrick Drake, Jason Thompson has received 5 consecutive Daytime Emmy nominations (Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2011 and 2012 and Outstanding Lead Actor in 2013, 2014 and 2015), but has never won. Although he’ll be off the ballot in 2016, perhaps he’ll have a better shot in 2017 when he’ll be able to submit his work as “Y&R’s” new Billy Abbott.

5) Doubling Up
“DAYS” has 4 actors who have pre-nominated themselves for the same 2 roles: Lauren Boles and Vivian Jovanni for their portrayals of Ciara Brady in the Outstanding Younger Actress category and Connor Kalopsis and Jonathan McClendon for their portrayals of Chase Jennings in the Outstanding Younger Actor category.

6) Girl Power
While “Y&R” has strong representation in Outstanding Younger Actress – Kelli Goss (ex-Courtney Sloan), Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland), Hunter King (Summer Newman) and Alyvia Alyn Lind (Faith Newman) – the sole Outstanding Younger Actor in contention is Max Ehrich (Fenmore Baldwin), a recurring player who has barely been on the soap over the past year.

7) Daytime Diversity
Of the six categories, Outstanding Younger Actor offers this year’s most diverse group of contenders with three African-Americans in the mix: Rome Flynn (Zende Forrester Dominguez, “B&B”), Terrell Ransom, Jr. (ex-Theo Carver, “DAYS”) and Tequan Richmond (TJ Ashford, “GH”).

8) Omnipotent Octogenarian
“DAYS” vet (Caroline Brady), 86, proves you’re never too old to drive storyline or vie for a shot as Outstanding Lead Actress. The actress was actually nominated in 2015, but lost to Maura West (Ava Jerome, “GH”).

‘Y&R’s’ Cane and Lily Reunite, More Love Twists Ahead

For some it’s a week of second chances, for others luck will run out. This week on “The Young and The Restless,” Cane () and Lily () finally reunite, and there are more love twists in store for two other couples.

Although Lily had pretty much given up hope that Cane would ever forgive her for her affair with Joe (Scott Elrod), things take an unexpected turn. In a heartfelt moment, Cane makes a major admission to his estranged wife. “I miss you,” he declares in a powerful moment between them. The next thing you know the duo are back together — and between the sheets making love. Reconciliation complete!

Meanwhile, on the Hilary () and Devon () front, the pair, who have been apart for months, look like they are en route to putting the pieces of their broken marriage back together, too. Hilary begins remembering moments with her husband from before her accident, reawakening her feelings for him. So she approaches him with the news. ‘I love you, Devon,” admits Hilary. “Give me one more chance.” They’re the words Devon has been waiting to hear.

Unfortunately, while Cane and Lily and Hilary and Devon are finding their way back to one another, Chelsea () and Adam’s () marriage is imploding. Now that Chelsea knows Victor () is holding something over Adam’s head and forced him to go back to work for him, she’s livid; especially since Adam won’t ‘fess up to what it is. Chelsea and Adam have a major showdown in Victor’s office. “If I have the kind of marriage where my husband can’t tell me the truth, your transformation into Victor is complete,” barks Chelsea. Then, she storms off. Is this the end for the twosome?

And in news off the romance path, Billy (), who’s been released from the hospital, starts having more memory flashes of the car that ran him down in the parking lot.  “I’m starting to remember,” admits Billy. Later, he bumps into Noah, which triggers another memory. “You were there,” says Billy. Will a guilty Noah finally confess that he was driving the car that hit Bill?

‘Y&R’s’ Valentine’s Day: Hot Hookups, a Proposal and a Stunning Pregnancy

” celebrates Valentine’s Day, this week, with hot hookups, a proposal and a stunning pregnancy.

The hookup portion of the holiday includes the usual suspects. Cane () and Lily () rendezvous in a room upstairs at the Genoa City Athletic Club. “I’ve got you all to myself,” says Cane, as he pulls Lily into a kiss and then leads her onto the bed.

Meanwhile, the long estranged Devon () and Hilary () finally straighten things out between the two of them and share a champagne toast. One thing leads to another and before long they’re kissing and undressing each other.

Billy () and Victoria () meet at the Top of the Tower for a romantic dinner. Billy, however, has more than a delectable meal on his mind. He ends up getting down on one knee and proposing to his on-again/off-again ex. “Will you marry me, again,” he asks tenderly.

The Newman Offices provide the backdrop and desktop for Adam () and Chelsea’s () Valentine’s Day fun, when Chelsea surprises her husband at work wearing red lace lingerie. “Not another word,” she coos to a dumbfounded Adam. Then, with a rose in her outstretched hand she tells Adam, “You may proceed.” And he does, carrying her onto to the desk.

Romance isn’t the biggest part of “Y&R’s” week. That scene happens in a hospital. Ashley () is the patient, sitting up in her bed, while Dr. Neville (Michael Knight) stands at the foot of it. “I’m pregnant,” announces Ashley. Color Dr. Neville as stunned as the audience will likely be.

As viewers know, Ashley has only been with one man in the last few months, Ben (). And he just married her daughter, Abby (). It looks like things are about to get very complicated for the newlyweds.

Jason Thompson, The Talk

On today’s edition of CBS’ “,” “” star (Billy Abbott) appeared for the first time on the daytime talk show. After welcoming him to the CBS family, the co-hosts asked the actor about working on the soap opera and how things have gone so far him, including how easy it was to be “sleeping” in bed while his castmates cried over the possible loss of his character. The actor also shared where he hides his lines when necessary.

Jason Thompson, The Talk
Monty Brinton/CBS

After thanking the ladies for their warm welcome, Thompson revealed that it was very easy fitting into the world of Genoa City and how welcoming his fellow cast members were to his joining the show. He happily told the women, “I’m sure you’ve met many of them over the years, but they’re just great people and I mean it feels really good to be over at CBS.”

For the first couple of episodes Thompson’s turn as Billy began with the character laying in a hospital bed following a violent double whammy that left his family with the decision to pull the plug after doctor’s proclaimed him physically incapable of surviving on his own: First the character was beaten by a bookie and then he was hit by a car that reversed into him, unknowingly at the time by Noah Newman (Robert Adamson). But how easy was it to play those bedridden scenes? Not only was it relaxing, it was also “pretty easy,” relays the actor.

“I have to say as an actor it was fantastic because I had all the castmates — all the people that mean the most to the character — crying and billowing over the character, so I learned a lot about what their relationships were. How we kind of got along in this past life, or the life I wasn’t really a part of, which was great. I was kind of mentally taking my notes as I was laying there trying not to, you know, wink or do anything,” said Thompson.

Speaking of lying in the bed, one always wonders where an actor would be able to hide their lines of dialogue (or lack thereof in Thompson’s case) in order to keep in tune with the happenings around them. According to Thompson, “You hide it anywhere you can. Beds, drawers…”

Gwendolyn Osborne-Smith and and Jason Thompson

Every wedding needs a planner, even if it is a couple’s fourth time saying, “I Do.” So the newly engaged Billy () and Victoria () hire one to coordinate their next trip down the aisle on “,” and she’s being played by “The Price Is Right” model Gwendolyn Osborne-Smith.

“Feb 29th on @YRInsider I’m Evelyn-the Wedding planner! Acting with these cuties! Will Victoria and Billy Marry?” Osborne-Smith shared on Twitter, along with pictures of the bride and groom.

Osborne-Smith didn’t have to travel far for her new job, since “Y&R” and “The Price Is Right” shoot just across the hall from each other at CBS Television City in Hollywood. Nor was she nervous about the gig, since she has acted before. Osborne-Smith was a series regular in “Ocean Ave.” from 2002 to 2003 and appeared in “Basketball Wife” in 2013. Plus, she currently stars in the reality series “Meet the Smiths” with her husband, retired NBA player Kenny Smith, and their family. The show airs Fridays on TBS.

Look for Osborne-Smith to appear on “Y&R’s” Monday, February 29  episode as the very British Evelyn. She’ll share scenes with Heinle and Thompson.

Brooklyn Rae Silzer

Grandma Anna () is about to get a very special house guest. is heading home to “” as Emma Drake, later this month.

Soaps In Depth broke the news that the adorable actress is returning to the soap for several appearances that will begin airing on March 30. The episodes were cleverly written to coincide with Emma’s spring break from school.

Emma was last seen on “General Hospital” on January 7, when she and her newly married parents, Patrick () and Robin (), left Port Charles to start a new life together in California. The daytime family’s departure was precipitated by Thompson’s decision to leave “GH’ and head to “” to take over the role of Billy Abbott.

At the time of the trio’s exit, it was mentioned that young Emma might be coming back on occasion to visit her beloved grandmother, Anna. However, few expected it to be so soon. The character hasn’t even been off the canvas three months.

Not that anyone is complaining, mind you. Viewers have always adored the young actress, so any opportunity to see her — even if it’s only for a few days — is always a welcome one.

There aren’t any details about how young Emma will fit into the storyline. But considering the stress Anna has been under of late, absolutely any reason at all would suffice as a good one for her to have a visit from her bubbly granddaughter.

Before news of ‘s return to “” became official, rumors began to swirl that might soon be leaving “” and his role as Billy Abbott, and possibly be heading back to Port Charles as Dr. Patrick Drake. But not so fast!

In a tweet by a fan directed at “Y&R” executive producer and CBS Daytime honcho , which said, “Just know that y’all lucky to have talent like Jason Thompson on ur show and y’all better not let him go ya hear ,” McDaniel cleared things up for all fans of the soap and actor when she said, “JT is incredible” with the hashtag .

It’s understood that fans were seemingly worried about the status of the actor following an alleged survey sent out by Sony Pictures Television, producers of the soap, asking fans for their thoughts on Thompson’s portrayal of Billy Abbott, among other questions about the soap opera.

With McDaniel’s tweeted response, any doubt on where Thompson stands in Genoa City can now be put to rest.

In the 15-second video released on its social media platforms, daytime’s number one drama compiled a series of images showing its stars holding stuffed emojis, including your standard go-to’s: angry face, kissy face, hearts, tears and even a bag of s***.

In the video below it seems the various emojis provide a telling tale of where the storylines involving Victoria (), Billy (), Phyllis (), Jack (), Ashley (), Devon (), Cane (), Lily () and others are heading, or in some cases, continuing. The video ended with the words “We Love You, Fans” (“love” was symbolized with a heart).
